Schedule 40 Black Pipe

Schedule 40 pipe is the most common wall thickness designation for pipe; the size refers to the inside diameter. The wall thickness will increase proportionally to the inside diameter. Competitive Metals stocks schedule 40 pipe with an enameled black coating to resist corrosion; it is also available in galvanized, aluminum, and sizes 3-1/2” and 4” are available in an uncoated smooth A500 Grade B finish. Schedule 80 pipe has the same outside dimension as schedule 40 but offers a heavier wall thickness for added strength.
